The material approach

Performance,
considered differently.

The Sovereign 50 brings contemporary composite engineering together with recycled, natural and reusable materials—reducing unnecessary waste without losing sight of strength, comfort or performance.

Built with a lighter footprint

Materials selected with purpose. Performance engineered in.

Modern construction creates an opportunity to rethink both the materials in the vessel and the way they are processed. The Sovereign 50 uses recycled PET structural foam, natural flax fibre, reusable silicone moulding and cork flooring as part of that approach.

The objective is not sustainability at the expense of performance. It is better material thinking as part of a better-built vessel.

60% of the structure uses material created from recycled plastic bottles
75% up to 75% less CO₂ in flax-fibre production compared with fibreglass
600+ potential uses from reusable silicone moulding membranes
25% reduction in resin content through the described reusable moulding process
Recycled plastic bottles representing ArmaPET structural foam

01 · Recycled structure

Armacell ArmaPET Foam.

Recovered plastic is given a structural purpose. Approximately 60% of the vessel structure is specified using material created from recycled plastic bottles—producing a strong, lightweight core while helping divert recoverable plastic from landfill.

  • Made from 100% recycled PET bottles
  • Strong, lightweight structural material
  • Thermal and acoustic insulation benefits
  • Reduces reliance on more conventional synthetic materials
Woven natural flax fibre material

02 · Natural composites

Flax fibre. Natural strength.

Flax fibre offers a natural alternative to traditional synthetic fibres. Combined with bio-resins, it can form a strong, water-resistant composite suitable for hull, deck and interior components while also contributing natural vibration damping.

  • Renewable plant-based fibre
  • Strong mechanical properties
  • Excellent vibration dampening
  • Supplied material cites up to 75% less CO₂ in production than fibreglass

03 · A reusable process

Less process waste.
Greater repeatability.

Reusable silicone membranes replace single-use moulding consumables. The specified process allows membranes to be used more than 600 times, while also reducing resin waste and improving repeatability.

600+ membrane uses
25% less resin content
Natural cork flooring material

04 · Materials you live with

Cork flooring.

Cork is harvested without removing or damaging the tree, allowing the bark to regenerate. Beyond its renewable origins, it provides natural thermal and acoustic insulation and is specified as a PVC-free flooring material within the vessel.

  • Renewable and regenerative material
  • Natural thermal and acoustic insulation
  • Resistant to bacteria, pests, mildew and mould
  • PVC free

Designed for the water ahead

Contemporary engineering. Considered materials. Australian craftsmanship.

The Sovereign 50 brings each of these decisions together in one vessel— designed to perform, endure and feel resolved in every detail.
